UV-C disinfection

Why UV Technology?

The quality of the air we breathe, the water we drink and the cleanliness of surfaces all have a profound effect on our health and well-being. We are all at the risk of contracting or spreading viruses and bacteria. The patients who are being cared for in hospitals and healthcare settings are vulnerable. Because any form of viral infection can complicate their recovery. Our UV-C lighting solutions don't treat people directly, they make a difference by helping to neutralize viruses and bacteria in a chemical free way.

UV-C radiation is a known disinfectant that has been used for more than 40 years for disinfecting water, air and surfaces. In laboratory testing UV-C light sources have inactivated 99% of SARS-CoV-2 virus on a surface with an exposure time of 6 seconds.

What is UV technology?

Ultra-Violet (UV) light is invisible to the human eye and is divided into UV-A, UV-B and UV-C.

UV-C is found within 100-280 nm range. In the graph can be seen that germicidal action is maximized at 265 nm with reductions on either side. We use Low pressure UV-C lamps that have their main emission at 254 nm where the action on DNA is 85%. As a result, UV-C germicidal lamps are extremely effective in breaking down the DNA of micro-organisms. This means that they cannot replicate and cause disease. Our LED product range comes with 275 nm UV-C LEDs
